school and updates

Classes this semester seems easier than the last 3 sems but i felt it is the most rushed one and messed up on my part. It seems i have mess up my internship application and likely to be stuck in school doing my own animated Short film. The only way left for me to get an internship is to self-secure one, which at the moment, none of the companies have reply me yet.

It is quite cool to create my own short film. I have an visual idea, but i ain’t good in writing a story. Well what goes around, comes around. If I am lucky i will be lucky, but well karma is not on my sides.

I can’t type what i wrote for animax here for now. but i will copy it over once they release my write up.

BUT all i can say first is that. I like to thank Frank from animax for this chance to watch Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance before anyone (other than like saku,aya, kage and who else was there?) else legally in Singapore.

It was a great movie, the story really moved away from the anime and manga and yet it still can keep the flow and some of the original ideas and angels [which some were redesigned or removed and renumbered. There was alot of fan service for all you Asuka fans. Rei is cuter in this remake. and Shinji is still the same whinny bitch.

and i just realised. It is easier for me to type here on my photoblog as i dun really need to worry of pissing people off with my language.

Anyway, if you have the time, and you are an anime/ evangelion fan. Just go and catch 2.0 at cathay cineleisure or AMK hub once it is out on thursday.

hahahaha.

Headphone Girls: a Pictorial Book

Finally after spotting it 6 weeks ago, i finally surrendered to the awesome art works and headphones. This is my review of Headphone Girls: A Pictorial Book. Well first of all, i was expecting it as just an usual art book of cute girls and awesome headphones, but guess what… it is an artbook with Headphones reviews.

Lets go page by page.

the inside title page. If you can read the words below the title, it basically says it is a Headphone review book with gorgeous artworks to help you to pick the headphones of your choice. *which is like every one of those in it once you see them*.

Out of the 8 double page posters of some custom design headphones, i love this one and the cover.

Marina bay

I can say Marina sands will be the next location that cosplayers will go and shoot once it opens.

Punggol End. nearly 360.

i think punggol end is coming to an end. The amount of construction sites there is kinda scary. Sooner or later singapore will have no more natural land space. [other than the water catchment areas and the nature reserves that is].

And recently some foreign photographer commented how lucky are Singaporean cosplay photographer and cosplayers. This is what i got to say. We dun have locations. if he realised. Many shoots use the SAME old place over and over again. And unlike him * he get paid to shoot cosplayers* we in singapore are treated like dogs, photographers here some times dun have rights to the photos depending on who we shoot. And society here is so competitive that we can’t even charge for covering events as idiots will just say they will do it for free to build portfolio.

oh wells enjoy the panoramas they are free. and i dun charge for them. XD

2 Act synopsis

As part of my diploma, I have a class of script writing which i think i will have some trouble. I know i always have ideas but i can’t explain or well type it out without telling the whole story. Synopsis to me is like secondary school compre summaries which i suck at.

On the rooftop, there is a boy lying there reaching for the blue sky. A phone call comes in, a girl on the line, she wonders where is his stand in the relationship. He replies that he need more time. He climbs down after he agreeing to meet her. He starts his Vespa, His phone rings again, she message that she is sorry and that she should not rush him about it. He replies by saying that he is just very confused but he thinks that she is the one. He puts his phone

it is SGD35.80. and kino have stockpile alot of it, unlike the art books they usually bring in.

i will try to post more artsy fatsy stuff sooner or later. i am just getting quite tired and sick of what is going on. and well to busy with school which eats my life.

A random update again

How quick. not at all -.-

anyways, School had just reopened and now in my 4th semester as a dvfx student. It looks like i will have some interesting modules this semester. Basically, this sem is all about script writing, organic modelling [zbrush], compositing [shake] and pre-viz [maya again]

I only have 4 main modules but i am expecting that they will be time consuming. *need ideas for 2 scripts* plus SOYB in Jan 2010 and my parents going to eat up my 2 weeks break in dec. Well for cosplay events, i will be going for AFA and Comic fiesta in KL *yesh again* but will be skipping EOY as i will be in china.

Ootoya @ orchard central

From the land of the rising sun. A new japanese food chain has arrive on the shores of this tiny red dot. Ootoya have like 100 of outlets in japan. and well NOT so recently open one @ orchard central. So here are some pics of what i and my my family had for our 2 visits to ootoya. [and now my dad want to go there when he wants some japanese food].

Ootoya has a huge and very bright menu outside the restaurant and i am kinda spoilt for choices.

Canon Photomarathon Singapore 2009

Once again i was there at suntec at 7am in the morning for the canon photomarathon, but this year i did not complete it.

It was all thanks to a screw up bodyclock that i did not grab a single wink of sleep at all and i think i have a fever coming up.

So my 3rd attempt in hopes to win something was killed off by no sleep and really blank ideas.

The 3 themes for this year were, #1, togetherness, #2, motion and #3, energy.

I only managed to submit togetherness 

i was like stoned when they announced the 1st theme at 9am.. the idea to find something to do togetherness in that early in the day was like wtf… and it started to rain… so my mood to shoot just went moodless.

well 2nd theme was motion, it should be easier for me coz i did all those motion shots before… but yet as i did it i could not find the feel. and with it, i went home. Too tired to continue running around singapore.

So well i skipped the rest of the day to sleep and guess what i just found out. James [one of my club member], who followed me for the 1st theme got 1st for Togetherness, the shot of an elderly couple while we having lunch. He did 2 shots, 1st in B&W and i was like i think colour will have more feel. and guess what… that colour shot won him First for that theme. Congrats to James!
